Welcome to Shaw’s Maple Syrup. We have been tapping our forest every year since 1904, and many of those original trees are still producing our liquid gold today. Each year starting February 16 through to April 22, the tradition continues with families visiting us for their annual spring celebration. Our warm Pancake House serves up tasty treats to fuel a walk through the bush with 4,500 trees all connected with tubing to collect around 180,000 liters of watery maple sap each season. On weekends we have horse-drawn wagon rides through our trails which recreated the way we collected our sap until the late 1960s . If the weather’s been “just right” you will be able to watch and smell the sweet sap boil away through the evaporator.
It’s Maple Weekend and we won’t let the ice storm or the ongoing power outage stop us from participating in this fantastic event that supports maple syrup producers across Simcoe County. and Ontario.
We will be at the Sugar Shack on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th from 10 am to 3 pm selling our fresh maple syrup and maple products on a CASH ONLY basis. Please be aware that our Pancake House is temporarily closed as we do NOT have power. If you make the drive out, you will see why! The roads are safe to drive but our sugarbush is not safe for public use and is closed for the season.
We are extremely grateful for all the kind messages we have received. Thank you for your incredible support. We hope you come by this weekend and pick up some fresh syrup – it was a great season for syrup right up to the storm.
