Sandy and Bill will be tapping into generations of maple producing family heritage as they begin their own maple sugaring operation on their newly acquired 200 Acre farm near Magnetawan, comprised of roughly 100 Acres of rolling maple bush, 50 Acres of Hemlock, a winding creek with waterfall and ponds and approx 25 acres of fields they will be upgrading to produce high quality hay and honey production, and a vegetable garden will round out their ventures at Woodgate Farm. For year one they have 450 taps feeding a gravity fed 3/16ths collection system and have invested in a 2.5 by 10 CDL Evaporator. They plan to produce syrup and butter and sell direct and through a local fine food store in Magnetawan.
