We are a small commercial operation with just over 240 taps. We have been in operation since 2020, and have been selling our maple syrup to local Bracebridge businesses since 2023. Our syrup is marketed as local, small batch and limited supply. We always run out of syrup by early in the new year.
Throughout the year, we have been doing maple syrup tastings during special events in town. Eg: Mother’s Day weekend, Thanksgiving, Festival of Lights etc.
These events are a great opportunity for people to learn more about maple syrup colours and flavours and have been very successful for the businesses that sponsor them.
Our operation has been steadily becoming more efficient as we learn more from the summer tours, networking, and the info days sponsored by local chapters. We are making changes this year by moving our sugar shack and finishing bottling room to a new location, with electricity, heat and water. We are finally adding an RO and are looking forward to the upcoming season.
There are only two of us involved in the sugaring operation, and we are not set up to have the public come to our sugar bush or sugar shack during the season. However along with family and friends, we do welcome small groups by appointment.
This year, we felt we could spare a day or two to attend Maple Weekend in Huntsville. We have not felt able to have one of us leave the sugar shack in prior years. We look forward to supporting the Weekends activities working with fellow producers.
